Snow Removal
Maine's harsh winter season can wreak havoc on a roof, especially if there is little to no pitch. Heavy snowfalls can push the weight limits of most roofs to dangerous levels. The snow load is not the only concern of a property owner; ice dams can create significant damage.
An ice dam is a ridge, or build-up of ice at the bottom edge of the roof. The problem with ice dams is that they allow additional water to pond, or puddle behind them. Shingle roofs are not designed to be waterproof. They are designed to shed water. Once water has accumulated, it generally finds a way into the home through nail penetrations, and behind flashings.
Don't put your people or property at risk. We here at D.H. Pinnette & Sons take snow removal seriously. Have our skilled experts remove your snow and ice properly. We understand your roofing system and have the knowledge to protect it during the snow removal process.
